Rehoming Post - Buddy and Jimmy
These beautiful boys will be looking for their new homes in a couple of weeks …. They will be rehomed SEPARATELY!
Both have recently been gelded and are approx 2 yrs of age and approx 11 h …..both passported and chipped and uptodate with everything …
These boys have totally different personalities but both are incredibly friendly , happy stabled and living out and are great with fencing etc too …. They are both young but learning daily and are like little sponges sucking up every new experience with such enthusiasm…they also load and travel really well …..
Jimmy ( piebald ) - a little harder to catch out of the two boys but very placid, he’s a little more apprehensive than Buddy and a little more nervous too …. He is an absolute sweetheart though…. Walks well when being lead …. Hasn’t had a huge amount of time being tied up ,so this needs working on ,but he really is lovely …
Buddy ( skewbald ) - most definitely the cheekiest, he’s dead easy to catch and follows you around the paddock like a big dog ….. he’s full of beans …. Is easy to handle however his ‘ go to ‘ when asked to do something he’s not sure about is a typical youngster thing to do and go up on his back legs and try and box you ….. he very kindly tried to do that with Danny the vet and I’ve had the pleasure of this too when suringing meds into his mouth aswell last week…. I think this is purely an age thing and will get better with more handling and as he grows up ( and we find this is a real go to for most young colts put in similar situations ) …. But he just beams personality and loves human interaction …..
Both boys have had lots of experience with the vet and farrier and like any youngsters will need continued training and development ….. it is essential for this reason they both get rehomed to homes with previous experience of having and handling youngsters ….
So , if you would like to apply for either Buddy or Jimmy please pm or email us with an overview of your situation , experiences , yard etc and why you feel you could offer one of the boys the most perfect home . You must live in Hampshire or the surrounding counties and be prepared for a home check before adoption , again at 3 and 6 month , must be prepared to sign an adoption agreement and pay an adoption fee ….. we do also take up references aswell …..
I say this every time we put a rehoming post up - PLEASE do not waste our time applying unless you are serious about adopting, have a secured place to keep them and have thought about it …. I will reiterate ,that the people who deal with applications , work full time , also run the rescue , have to deal with all enquiries and admin and have young children ….. they really DO NOT have the time for ‘ timewasters ‘….

Rehoming post - Billy ( aka Horton Boy George )
Well what to tell you about our Billy , he was in his last home for 22/23’yrs and has never been backed or driven he has simply been a pet since he was born……
Billy was incredibly nervous when he came in and not used to regular handling , he is still a little unsure lifting up his back feet but we are working on that and he didn’t like being caught either but we’ve smashed that now because Billy will sell his soul for a treat ….
Billy was living on his own before he came into us but has been paddocked next to two colts and a mare and doesn’t seem fazed by either … he is happy in a stable and great with fencing ….
Billy is beautiful both inside and out however is a little unsure about being tied up etc as I just don’t think it’s something he’s used too …. He does love a groom in his paddock and also loves human interaction he just loves people once he’s gotten to know you ….
Billy is on a Welsh green passport and has recently been microchipped , he’s had his teeth done , farrier and been wormed ….
Billy loaded and travelled fine to us even though it was something quite alien to him …..
We are looking for a companion home for Billy , where he can continue daily interaction and handling with people , because he craves attention …..he isn’t a horse to just leave in the field and do nothing with or he will go back to being nervous and hard to catch etc …. Billy would do really well in hand showing as he moves beautifully for a big lad ….. ( he’s 14’2/14’3 and built like a tank )
We adore Billy and it is imperative that he goes to the right companion home ….. his old owner would like to stay in touch ,as he owned Billy for so long and it was a very sad surrender which was simply due to him being in his 80’s .
If you live in Hampshire or the surrounding counties and think you could offer Billy a new home please apply via email or pm with an over view of your situation , experience and the kind of home you could offer Bill . There is a home check before adoption and again at 3 and 6 months , an adoption form to sign along with an adoption fee to be paid and we also take references ……
Rehoming post - Cinders
Cinders will be 4 yrs next spring, she is a Welsh a/ b cross and stands close to 11hh
Cinders came to us from another charity along with Tinks and Rhi they were all pretty feral, Cinders is very much the baby of the three, both physically and mentally. With another year or so to mature, and more training she could be ridden.
It has taken many hours of patience to get to a place where we are able to write this advert (plus her foster mum is a little overprotective) so we absolutely want to find that very special home for our special little one!
Cinders is cheeky, curious and incredibly loving, they say that some mares find their person and are devoted for life, that will be Cinders. She will love you, follow you and you will be her world if you let her.
Herd life, with at least one or two other ponies, suits Cinders best, she is happy with mares and geldings (she is a bit of a flirt with the boys), she is low down the pecking order, rarely causing trouble. She has paired up with the older mare in her foster home.
To handle she will stand to be brushed, good for the farrier, and has started loading into the horsebox. It took time but now Cinders will happily leave the herd and come up to the yard on her own without getting distressed. She can be shy with new people at first, but soon warms up to them.
Cinders is not perfect, she is not bombproof or kid safe yet, she can be stubborn and will spin and run if she doesn’t think she is safe or if she thinks you are worried too. She is a proper foodie; she knows exactly what a treat is and will get nippy if hand-fed. On the plus side, if you are the bucket carrier then she is like stuck to you like velcro!
She can also be naughty round dogs; she is better than she was, but she will chase them if you don’t pay attention.
A typical green young pony, not a problem for a home that has experience, just not ready for a novice home. Her foster home strongly recommends that the person lucky enough to adopt Cinders comes to see her a few times to get to know her, so that she knows that she has a friend when she moves.
If you would like to apply for Cinders you must live in Hampshire or the surrounding counties… there will be a home check before adoption and again at 3 and 6 months , an agreement to sign and an adoption fee to be paid.
When you apply you must do this by email or pm and you must tell us where you live , a bit about your back ground and experience and tell us most importantly why you could offer Cinders the very best new home …..
